  • Fernando Lima is a professor at the Department of Design, Representation and Technology of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (DPRT-FAU) and a permanent professor of the Postgraduate Program in Built Environment (PROAC) at The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF).

    He received a PhD in Urbanism from The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PROURB-UFRJ) and attended an exchange period at The Faculty of Architecture of University of Lisbon (FA-UL) between January 2016 and January 2017, with CNPq scholarship. He has a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from The Fluminense Federal University (2008), and is a specialist in Construction Management from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2008).

    He is an architect and Urban Planner also from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2003). Fernando develops researches on the possibilities of application of algorithmic resources and visual programming language (VPL) in the design process for cities guided by the principles of Transit Oriented Development. He has interest in computing resources applied to design processes, such as algorithmic and parametric modelling, digital fabrication, rapid prototyping and virtual prototyping.
