  • Sara Eloy is an Assistant Professor at University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) where she is the director of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism and of the Integrated Master in Architecture and a researcher in ISTAR-IUL (Information Sciences Technologies and Architecture Research Center). Eloy teaches disciplines of Architectural Computer Aided Design, Computation, Drawing and Building Technologies. Eloy graduated in Architecture (FA.UTL 1998) and have a PhD in Architecture (IST.UTL 2012) under the theme “Transformation grammar-based methodology for housing rehabilitation: meeting contemporary functional and ICT requirements”. Her main areas of research are shape grammar, considering the possibilities of generating design alternatives in a customized manner, and computer aided design and evaluation tools as immersive virtual reality, augmented reality and space syntax. Eloy has published and exhibited her work in, among others, AIEDAM and Nexus Network Journal, eCAADe, CAADRIA, Sigradi and DCC.
