  • He is an architect, graduated in 1993 by the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD (2015, by the University of Lisbon) in the field of Architecture and specialized in the area of Drawing and Visual Communication.

    Since 1996, he lectures Descriptive Geometry courses and, more recently, Computer Graphics courses in the architectural graduations at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon. His research activities regard graphical representation science and mainly the issue of Perspective.

    In his doctoral thesis, he proposed a new concept and system of perspective (the Extended Perspective System – EPS) which was implemented computationally by the multidisciplinary team of the scientific research project Naadir (A New Approach on Architectural Drawings, integrating computer descriptions, 2010-2013) in the EPS Visualizer software prototype.

    Currently, he is leading the CIAUD Eyesight Cartographies project: a research context which involves students in a curricular unit and where a systematic approach to the projective condition of perspectival representation is pursued, by considering its relationship with cartography science and the visual sphere concept as a geometric model for vision.
